Pleurothallis is a genus within the greater Pleurothallid Alliance commonly named Bonnet Orchids. This was a huge genus that used to contain more than 1,200 species but many species were moved into new genera since 2004. Species are epiphytic and can be grown in pots or mounted. Because of its diversity, they grow in a variety of habitats from cool to warm, intermediate to low light, but always staying evenly moist due to their fine roots and lack of pseudobulbs. Flowers are delicate and interesting, arising from the leaf margin which is really cool.
