Description
Dendrobium leonis is a miniature orchid native to SE Asia and coveted for its striking foliage which looks more like a succulent than an orchid. These guys can be grown mounted or potted, and unlike many dendrobiums they prefer moderate rather than high light. Although they are lithophytes as well as epiphytes, I find that they don’t mind being a little less dry than many dendrobiums. In other words, if you are an overwaterer like me, Dendrobium leonis will forgive you (to a point, of course). The flowers are funky–rather clog shaped, like Bulbophyllum frostii, but cream to yellow in color. They also smell unusual–not bad, just…different.
I always try to be fair on my pricing, but I must say that these are a STEAL compared to others I’ve seen for sale on the internet. My plants are at least four growth but most are more.
