Description

Ascofinetia Peaches (Neofinetia falcata x Ascocentrum curvifolium) is a lovely and relatively compact hybrid that reaches approx. 4-6 inches (10-15cm) and produces offshoots readily like both its parents. The flowers of this primary hybrid vary in color, but the ones that I have seen thus far have been more on the red side, favoring Ascm. curvifolium.  Some of the flowers are dark enough to be considered a bright purple.

We are growing Ascf. Peaches like a standard Vanda, i.e., in a basket.  However, to adjust for our northern, drier climate (compared to Florida), we add very chunky bark and charcoal or Growstone to the baskets.  The roots grow vigorously and are a great indicator of general plant happiness.  Like other Vandas, grow in high light and warm to hot temperatures.  Water well then allow to dry out which will mean daily watering unless you grow this in a pot.    If you find that the roots are drying out, add more chunky mix to the pot or basket to maintain more humidity around the roots.  You can also grow the plant in a clay pot with a chunky bark mix to minimize watering.  I have had excellent success with standard Vandas in pots here in Michigan.

amazing plant. I bought one of these plants in December. I repotted it a few day after it arrived and it experienced no transplant shock at all. it is the most vigorous orchid in my collection. I am looking forward for it to bloom. special thanks to the owner. highly recommended!
