Description
Neofinetia falcata (Vanda falcata) Kinroukaku is a yellow tiger form with short, slightly peacock leaves. The first time I saw it I was brand new to Neos, and I thought they were all sunburnt! A common mistake among the uninitiated. Little did I know this is one of the most popular varieties of the hundreds out there. I have come to really like the interesting colors now that I know that plants are healthy! Like other yellow tigers (as opposed to white tigers like Houmeiden), Kinroukaku produce their best color in higher light (higher than typical for Neos). In lower light, the yellow will fade. Every leaf is colored differently, and therefore every plant is an individual work of art.
Plants are vigorous growers, excellent bloomers, and wonderfully fragrant. Plants bloom in summer, typically between May and August. Flowers are white and wonderfully fragrant, particularly in the evening.
Neos are great plants for beginner orchid growers. They are forgiving when it comes to watering, and they can tolerate temperatures from near freezing to over 100 degrees. They are rugged little plants!

Great looking, very golden tiger stripe neofinetia! Mine had very healthy, thick roots growing on it!
