This month I have been traversing Ohio giving talks about the wonders of Japanese orchids. So far I have visited Cincinnati (my mom’s hometown) and Columbus (home of one of my alma maters), and found that both local societies have great people and are very gracious hosts. This week I travel to Cleveland to speak to the West Shore Orchid Society, and I am really looking forward to it. Those of us in the Neo world are always eager to spread the word and accept more Neo nuts into the flock. If your orchid society is looking for speakers, I am more than happy to come. One of the best parts of becoming the new owner of New World has been the people I have met, and it’s only the beginning!
We are also making plans for Europe this year to deliver plants to our friends overseas. For the last 20 years or so, Glenn has traveled to England to make his yearly deliveries because his late wife, Maria, was English. This year we are planning to make our deliveries from elsewhere–Belgium? Germany? We haven’t decided yet. From the point of view of our European friends, everything will be the same. We will arrive, send out your packages, and you should get them in a few days. The best things DO come in small packages!
I think you should come to Sweden Kristen. You would be very welcome here. 🙂
I would LOVE to come to Sweden sometime! Right now it’s all about PAPERWORK. Yuck. And what we know best is going to England. Looks like we’re going to stick with the tried and true after all this year. Not that I’m complaining about going to England having never been there, either. It is, in fact, at the top of my list of places I would love to go. I just wish I could take more time there, but my boys will be awaiting my return. Maybe when they get older, we can do a proper tour of Europe.
