Oberonia
Oberonia is widely distributed, including over 300 species on three Continents (Asia, Africa, and Australia). Oberonia refers to Oberon, the handsome King of the Fairies, who is reflected in the minute flowers that make up the showy foxtail-like inflorescences. To see the "tiny men" requires a magnifying glass, but to see the beauty does not. The plants themselves are also very attractive with their somewhat fleshy, fan-like leaves. Oberonia grows warm to cool in low light. Plants may be grown mounted or in pots with a very open mix. I find they are not deeply rooted.
