Neofinetia falcata: The Samurai Orchids
Neofinetia falcata, (a.k.a. Vanda falcata) better known as "furan" or "fukiran" in Japan, is native to Asia and particularly cherished in Japan. Called "Rich and Noble Orchids," Neos were once so highly prized that they were owned only by people of high rank, giving them the nickname "Samurai Orchids." Fukiran along with other Japanese orchids are particularly prized for their foliage which makes them a beautiful addition to your home year round. When they bloom, their delicate but long-lasting flowers fill the air with an intoxicating scent that is a mix of vanilla, honeysuckle, and orange blossom.
The pictures are examples of plants to give you a better idea of the appearance of each variety. They are not necessarily the size you will receive. See the description section of each variety for an idea of size. All plants are mature and blooming-size.
