Description
Malaxis calophylla, the beautiful leaf Malaxis, is a terrestrial jewel orchid from SE Asia. A deciduous species, it spends part of the year as a small tuberous pseudobulb. When the leaves emerge, they are magnificent: big, dark in the center, and silvery on the outside. Malaxis calophylla also produces tall inflorescences of numerous small, shield-shaped yellow flowers. But you own the plant for the foliage, for sure. I prefer to grow them in moss which retains moisture while providing some air pockets around the roots as well. Grow cool to warm, and allow to dry slightly between watering.
These are single pseudobulbs potted up and ready to go.
