Kefersteinia is a genus in the Maxillaria tribe and the Zygopetalum subtribe and native to Latin America. The plants have no pseudobulbs, therefore they need moist conditions to do well. The flowers emerge from between the leaves and create a ring around the base of the plant. Flower color background ranges from white to yellow, and most species have dark pink to maroon speckling on the flowers. Flowers are beautiful and long-lasting. Plants can be grown in pots or mounted.
