You know how stuff happens in threes? A new muffler (the old one fell off), a new garage door (the old one fell apart), and college tuition (Henry’s senior year) dictate that I have an end of summer sale. You get more orchids; I pay the bills. Plus I have fewer orchids to put back in the greenhouse when the temperature drops!
The more you buy, the bigger your discount*:
- Up to $49.99 save 10% (use coupon code FALL10)
- $50-$99.99 save 15% (use coupon code FALL15)
- $100+ save 20% (use coupon code FALL20)
The end of summer sale will run through Friday, Sept 13–how lucky! I hope there will be a lot of orders, and it’s just me filling them, so PLEASE have patience. If you are willing to accept substitutes for anything that I’m out of, it saves a lot of time to leave me a note saying so. I always substitute stuff that looks particularly good, is of equal or greater value, and is in keeping with what you ordered.
My Hot Picks
Bulbophyllum close-outs:
I carry the orchids that I like, that I can grow well, and that you want. I have found that with a few exceptions, I’m not great with Bulbos and not many of you love them. So I’m gonna try to clear the decks of Bulbos EXCEPT for a few that I love and who like me. Everybody else will be on super sale. I won’t send anything that isn’t viable, but don’t expect the super sale guys to look perfect. They’re on the virtual markdown table, remember.
Neofinetia falcata:
Although they’re not in bloom, collectors love these orchids for their beautiful and diverse form which can be enjoyed all year. Perfect for new as well as experienced growers, and small enough to fit on a windowsill, these popular miniatures never cease to charm. Come spring, you’ll see their beautiful root tips (still on display now for most of mine), and next summer you’ll smell their unbeatable fragrance for yourself. Look for discounts on some of the varieties I have lots of.
Cattleya:
There are a bunch! Some of them look great, some look good, and some look needy. The needy guys are going to get super markdowns (see caveat of expectations above). There are also some varieties that haven’t made it onto the website for some reason, so you may see something new. Because these are all hybrids, they will often bloom twice a year.
I hope you all are enjoying the beginning of the new season, and I hope this end of summer sale makes the shorter days a little brighter.
