Sarcochilus consists of 25 species endemic to Northern and Eastern Australia, Tasmania, New Guinea, and New Caledonia and related to Vandas. Plants grow well potted or mounted and like to stay a little wetter than the typical Vanda (which really likes to dry out). Flowers are usually white with red or pink polka dots, but thanks to breeding, there is more variety in the background and polka dot colors. A really interesting genus that is just starting to gain popularity outside of Australia.
