A note on Neofinetia sizes & pricing

The Neofinetias are priced on the number of growths, as well as maturity, rarity and other factors. Prices may fluctuate due to our sources in Japan.

The first price listed is for one growth, unles noted (2-growth, 3-growth, etc.) which would indicate that the first price is for a 2 growth plant (or larger.) Each price increment is per 1 additional growth. A single growth plant may not always be mature enough to bloom! Most plants with 2 or more growths should be mature enough to bloom in season, but not always.

A 5-growth plant may have 5 mature growths, or one mature growth with 4 offshoots, or in between. We have recently found a source where the plants are seed-grown, and many will have several immature growths. (Hisui, Kinrokaku, Kibana and others) These are usually quite vigorous, and may outgrow divided plants with 1 or 2 mature growths!

Please ask if you have any questions.

A note on Neofinetia leaf & flower color

We have found that both leaf color and flower color can vary among the plants, and in different conditions. While most of our pink flowered plants are fairly consistent, some have produced flowers with little pink coloration. Shutennou & Shoujou have been the most consistent. Benisuzume is new, so we have not been able to judge it yet, but it is supposed to be a very good pink! The yellows are very consistent in color.

The amount & location of pink coloration may also vary. The color may be on the peduncle, pedicel, lip, spur, sepals, petals, or a combination.

Leaf color can be affected by the time of year and amount of light. Most of the variegation in Tiger types and ones with Golden leaves will be brighter under higher light levels. The Fukiran types do not seem to be as affected, and will usually have nice sripes under lower light levels.
